As per Honours College tradition, the Honours Retreat for the Class of 2027 was successfully held on October 20, 2024, from 9:00 to 18:00 at E31-1001 Multi Hall. This exclusive event provided new HCers with the chance to engage in various bonding and social activities, not only with their peers but also with coaches and senior HC members.
In the morning, the Class of 2027 participated in both intra-class and inter-class competitions, showcasing their collaborative and creative strategies through a series of ice-breaking games. These activities energized the atmosphere and fostered a sense of unity among the HCers. Participants were encouraged to think outside the box, overcoming hesitation and shyness. Each group enjoyed the activities with great enthusiasm and team spirit.
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to theater performances, where each class selected a topic and performed a drama related to it. This session allowed HCers to step out of their comfort zones, take on leadership roles, and collaborate closely. Despite the tight time constraints, they managed to go through the entire process of a small theater production, including plot drafting, stage direction, role division, and backstage logistics. The three performances were outstanding, raising awareness on various topics and taking the audience on an emotional journey.
Although time was limited, the collaboration among HCers was boundless. They had a wonderful time together, strengthening their bonds and unity.
In the end, we warmly welcome the Class of 2027 and look forward to their adventure in HC!
