A delegation from the Honours College (HC) of the University of Macau (UM), comprising faculty members and 17 students, recently participated in a five-day study trip to Sichuan. Supported by the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office and the Liaison Office of the Central Government, the trip aimed to deepen understanding of Sichuan’s development and culture.
The delegation included Victoria Lei Lai Cheng, the representative of the dean of the UM Honours College, and Chu Zhiwen from the Education and Youth Affairs Department of the Liaison Office. During the trip, they engaged with officials from the Sichuan Provincial Government, gaining valuable insights into the region’s historical heritage and future development plans.
Highlights of the trip included a visit to Sichuan University, where the delegation learned about the noble spirit of revolutionary martyrs at the Sister Jiang Memorial Hall and participated in an exchange with local students. Additionally, they visited the West China Institutes for Women and Children’s Health at the West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University, where they explored the latest advancements in medical research.
This enriching experience broadened the students’ horizons, fostering friendships with peers from different regions and enhancing their academic and cultural understanding.
