On the afternoon of April 18, 2026, the Honours College (HC) of the University of Macau held its Academic Year 2025/2026 Graduation Recognition and Celebration. The Honours College multifunction room was turned into a stage where potential graduates of the Honours College Certificate Programme celebrated their achievements together with their parents and fellow members of the University.

The event commenced at 4:00 p.m. with an opening address by Prof. Rose LAI, Dean of Honours College. She conveyed her warmest congratulations to the Class of 2026, offering heartfelt encouragement and expressing her genuine hopes for their future endeavors. Her remarks highlighted not only the graduands’ accomplishments, but also the values of leadership and social responsibility fostered during their time at Honours College.

Following the address, potential graduates were invited to the stage one by one, where Prof. Rose LAI presented each of them with the HC stole, a symbol of their achievements and their identity as members of the Honours College. The ceremony then continued with a group photo session, bringing together graduands and guests to commemorate this meaningful moment.

After the photo session, Ms. Jasmine DENG, Ms. Amy HONG, and Ms. Mimi WONG, three student representatives from the Class of 2026, delivered speeches. They reflected on their life at Honours College, sharing stories of precious friendships, study-abroad experiences, team collaboration, and intellectual discovery. Expressing deep gratitude to both Honours College and the University of Macau, they described their university experience as fulfilling and memorable, and expressed their best wishes to all fellow graduands for a bright and promising future.

During the second part of the event, in collaboration with the Honours College Student Association (HCSA), the setting was transformed into a festive gathering. Participants enjoyed taking instant photos together, joining the badge-making workshop and playing the Game of Life board game, fostering a fun and engaging atmosphere throughout the session.

The celebration concluded with a tea reception prepared by Honours College, where graduands and their parents enjoyed refreshments and took individual graduation photos to preserve this beautiful moment. The ceremony not only marked the completion of a remarkable academic chapter, but also served as a special occasion to honor shared experiences, strengthen community bonds, and inspire graduands as they embark on the next stage of their life journeys.
