The afternoon of the January 24 was cold and drizzly, with the sky overcast with gray clouds. The day has been recorded as one of the coldest days in Macau history, as the temperature of the city has not dropped below the record of near-freezing temperatures. Yet the students from the Honours College, despite the freezing weather, went out of their way to show the warmest side of their hearts, and were warmed by the enthusiastic welcome of the animals of the Anima Macau.
The 30 students, having arrived at the center, went and met with the director and volunteers of the Anima Center, who showed the visitors around the center. The students had a chance to play and spend time with the lovely animals there, and the whole visit was exuding warmth, love, joy and laughter.
Aurora XUE, one of the students who visited, said, “Although it’s freezing today, this visit means a lot to me and I believe it is meaningful for everyone. We have seen the view that could not be found in campus. As a university student, especially from the Honours College, to fulfill our role and social responsibility, we should care more about abandoned animals in Macau.”
