Despite the soft drizzling rain and chilly morning breeze, Seac Pai Van Park saw a crowd gathering at its entrance, and the fog did not dampen the excitement of the participants as they prepare themselves for the tree planting initiative.

The IACM, the governmental department in charge of environmental conservation of Macau, had organized a tree planting activity during the Green Week Project, and had invited various organizations and groups to participate in the effort, and the Honours College Student Association had responded to their invitation with a group of 30 or more excited participants.

Students came not only from the Honours College, but from all different faculties and year levels, many of whom were Year 1 students. The activity not only allow the participants a chance to get in touch with Nature in Macau, but also an opportunity to know other participants as well.

Having arrived at the assigned destination, the participants began the planting, and everyone had a chance of trying their hand in shoveling and digging, as well as watering the saplings they have planted. Everyone made an effort to use the various tools provided by IACM, under the supervision of the coordinators from IACM.

At the end of the activity, students also received a little souvenir from the IACM, a small plant for everyone to take back home as they continue to learn more about nature and their part in fostering a greener society in the future.
