Last Friday, on May 27, 2016, the lobby of the Honours College came alive with colors as the gathering crowds convened to congratulate the newly graduated class of 2016. Teeming with HC faculties and alumni, the lobby hall itself came to life as laughter took to the air and the cocktail party began.
To mark the opening of the festive gathering, Prof. Kai Meng MOK , the Dean of the Honours College, said a few words of congratulations and encouragement to the fresh graduates, reminding them to continuously strive to improve and to contribute to our own community and society at large. He added that graduates should become active citizens, ever intent on making a positive difference in the world and to never fear new challenges in life.
Stephanie Si Man U, the representative of the graduating class, also shared her feelings towards HC, underlining that HC is a family, a place not only where she can meet, but also support and learn from others. Not in the least, this is where she learnt how to be a good leader and a grateful friend.
James Chon Ieng LAW , President of General Assembly of the Cabinet of UMHCAA, shared his own experience to the graduates in his own speech, shedding light on the future path that awaits them. The party was also graced with a lively ukulele performance by Sean Wai Hou AO , a member of the Cabinet of the UMHCAA. Amidst laughter and warm good-wishes, the party and the school year came to a happy ending.
