In the second installation of the developing HC Alumni Sharing series, the focus was on postgraduate education this time. At the invitation of the HC Alumni Association, speakers Ms. Angel WU (Class of 2015) and Mr. Vincent KWAN (Class of 2018) shared their postgraduate experience on January 10, 2020, in the E12-G003 Lecture Hall.

Having completed two master’s programs in the UK, Angel recalled the pursuit of her passion spanning the field of psychology and philosophy. She admitted that she never felt sure about her choices, but her thought processes led her to where she was now. She welcomed the students to disagree with her views of life, but stressed that the reasoning behind all answers are of greater importance. “Live life without regrets, even if you lose everything you have,” she said at the end of her sharing.

Compared to Angel, Vincent opted for a more systematic approach to describe his journey in higher education. He gave admission advice on the University of Manchester (where he completed a master’s degree) as well as tips on how to adapt to life in the UK. According to him, a healthy life is a balanced one.

With one currently studying her PhD in the National University of Singapore and the other studying library science in the University of Hong Kong, Angel and Vincent are excellent examples for students seeking to become scholars.
