On December 17, 2022, HCers gathered together to witness the birth of the new batch of Honours College Student Association (HCSA). Other than passing on the new batch, this Ceremony also aimed to congratulate and encourage the resume of the HC Study Abroad Programme. Additionally, conducting various speeches and workshops increased our bonding and understanding towards Honours College (HC).

The Ceremony began with the opening speech by the Dean of Honours College, Prof. Rose Neng LAI to welcome all guests and participants.

To mark the official turnover, the HCSA 2021/2022 President Ms. Carol Wong  passed the HC ceremonial stamp to incoming president Mr. Damien Lao followed with speeches from former and current President of HCSA.

With the epidemic situation improving, we are glad to see that HC resumes sending the Class of 2024 to study abroad. Two of the HC alumni, Ms. Miki Lei and Ms. Queenie Cheung came back to share their HC programme’s study abroad experience in the United States. Their realistic and interesting sharing encouraged students who would soon depart for the United States and United Kingdom to enjoy their time there to the fullest and to be always grateful for this opportunity and to all the people that helped them in the journey.

Then followed by our honourable guest Mr. James LAW, the President of General Assembly of the Honours College Alumni Association (HCAA) of University of Macau, gave us an introductory speech of HCAA.

A bookmark workshop aiming to increase the bonding between the new HCSA members and the various HCers ends the event.

At last, a big congratulations to the new HCSA board members.
