Under the invitation and support of Hong Kong And Macao Affairs Office Of The State Council and Liaison Office Of The Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R., Teachers and Students of Honours College of University of Macau visited Nanjing, Jiangsu Province during May 21-25, 2023 to gain an in-depth understanding of the country’s development in various sectors such as politics, economy, industrial, and cultural.

Participating students expressed that the experience had been highly valuable and enriching for them. They highlighted that the trip significantly improved their understanding of their motherland and the city of Nanjing, enabling them to understand the integration of the historical culture and modern high-tech industries.

The delegation includes Prof. Dennis Ping-Cheng WANG, HC Programme Coordinator, Mr. Zhang Chuanwei, representative from Liaison Office Of The Central People’s Government in the Macao S.A.R., Ms. Liu Su, representative from Department of Exchange & Cooperation Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office Of The State Council, and 27 HC students. During the five-day study trip, the delegation visited various corporations, institutions, and national key laboratories in Nanjing, providing them with insight into the development plans of Jiangsu Province and Nanjing city. The delegation had an opportunity to engage and exchange with students and faculty members at University of Nanjing.

The delegation also visited several showrooms and cultural landmarks, including Nanjing Museum, Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum, the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders and the Nanjing World Literature Hall, etc. Through these visits, they were able to gain first-hand experience and a deeper appreciation of Nanjing’s rich historical heritage and cultural significance. Students were greatly impressed about the innovation, culture and history of Nanjing.
