Short description of project
Herba Siegesbeckia is a traditional herbal medicine that was used against joint and muscle pains for long history. And it is the first herbal medicine that has been approved by the European Directive on Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products (THMPD). This project is to collect germplasm of Herba Siegesbeckia in China and estimate evolutionary relationship among three origin species and different local populations based on genome and transcriptome sequencing. The data will shed light on the evolution and speciation pattern among those taxa and also provide important information for further study on quality control of Herba Siegesbeckia.
